The Sioux Falls School District "All Star" nominations have been rolling in! We've already surprised several SFSD All Stars with awards in just a few short weeks - with many more to come! We are excited to introduce you to them throughout the year!
You will begin to see a mix of both video and traditional All Star winners shared here. Previously known as "Staff Stars," we have combined the video series into an easier-to-understand and nominate format.

A quick reminder that the second virtual forum in our new Family Forum Series - a new partnership between SFSD and Avera to help bring families and experts together on important topics - will be taking place this upcoming Tuesday, October 18 at 6 pm. This month's topic will be about Anxiety.
Find a link to the upcoming webinar here ---> https://www.sf.k12.sd.us/page/counseling-services
These virtual sessions on a pre-selected topic will be held the third Tuesday of each month at 6:00 pm through a secure webinar platform. Your anonymous participation provides a safe space to learn about the challenges facing today’s students and the resources available for help. The series does not offer personal medical advice, but rather general information to build a parent’s knowledge. Sessions, each approximately 40 minutes in length, will be recorded and posted on the same site for on-demand playback at your convenience.

The Sioux Falls School District will be hosting a Community Engagement Session at Cleveland Elementary next Monday, October 17, at 6 pm and we want YOU there! The guided discussion will last about 1.5 hours and consists of brainstorming ideas to move SFSD forward in our quest to become the BEST in the nation! Join us to dream big about curriculum, transportation, activities, safety, along with a range of other topics.

We are honoring our child nutrition lunch professionals during National School Lunch Week!
These excellent individuals remain dedicated to serving students healthy meals each day! This year’s fun and creative campaign theme, “Peace, Love & School Lunch,” highlights the importance of having nutritious foods available daily in our Sioux Falls Public Schools. From preparing meals, distributing meals, and serving meals to creating relationships with students as they walk through the lunch line, our child nutrition professionals go above and beyond for our District.
Please help us thank them for their hard work and dedication to fueling healthy minds in the Sioux Falls School District!

Happy National Custodian Appreciation Day! All Sioux Falls School District buildings are empty today, but students and staff will be welcomed back tomorrow to safe and clean facilities, thanks to the behind-the-scenes work of our hard-working custodial staff! Please help us say 'thank you' to these incredible individuals – many of whom work early, early mornings or late, late evenings, and everything in between! We are so grateful for each and every one of them!

Excuse us while we brag for a minute… Our Superintendent is pretty talented! Dr. Jane Stavem is an accomplished pianist, vocalist, trumpet player, French horn player, percussionist, xylophone player… oh, and she also plays harmonica! 😉 These talents, along with her deep love for all things Fine Arts, earned her the honor of Parade Marshal for Festival of Bands 2022! We are proud to be lead by someone who values the role extracurriculars play in “preparing each student to succeed in a changing world!”

It’s a beautiful morning for the Festival of Bands! The parade starts in 5 minutes. If you are unable to join us in-person, watch live here! https://youtu.be/ZtfRvery1G0
