Sioux Falls School District social work services are designed to promote attendance and assist District personnel with difficult cases in which students have conflicts within the school, home, or community. School social workers coordinate referrals to community agencies to provide education and support for students and their families. In addition, social workers assist in the enforcement of South Dakota's compulsory attendance laws. School social workers provide intervention services that help improve student attendance, student achievement, student behavior, and parent engagement by working with students and families at-risk of these school challenges.
