Welcome to kindergarten! The Sioux Falls School District is committed to providing each student with the essential skills and knowledge he/she will need to succeed in school. The District's kindergarten curriculum is designed to engage children in the learning process, inspire their curiosity, provide them with a sense of accomplishment and help them understand the value of what they are learning. We want your child to have a meaningful kindergarten experience - one that will provide a strong foundation for future academic growth.

Kindergarten Registration Requirements

Sending your student off to Kindergarten can be a time filled with emotion. We celebrate the growth and development of our children and yet, wish for them to remain safely within our reach. The Sioux Falls School District is committed to providing a safe, nurturing environment for your child to begin their educational journey.

Specialized Schools (Elementary)

Sioux Falls School District has many different paths to choose from. Learn more about Two-Way Immersion, a distinctive form of immersion education in which balanced numbers of native English and Spanish speakers learn together in both languages. Spanish Immersion is a program where all classroom instruction is in Spanish beginning in kindergarten. The Challenge Center is a unique school that was developed to meet the needs of high-ability students from across the district. ACE, where you would be joining a community of parents who see how the investment of time in education can impact their children's future. Eugene Field A+, where art instruction is fundamental in the philosophy of A+ schools and not just for music and visual art, and other Specialized Schools!
