We can match Capital and Lowercase Letters! We can order the letters of the alphabet! K01 learned that learning can be messy and frustrating. We worked together to complete this challenging task and it was very rewarding!

A new group "M.O.V.E" (Men of Value & Education) has been formed at RF/CC! Please consider volunteering to be a man of value and education in our school. Having a strong male role model in our building can make a huge difference in many students lives. M.O.V.E allows father figures to be visible in our building during the school day and show their support for learning. It's often the norm that mothers are more involved in the education experience than fathers and M.O. V. E. allows us to change that or bridge the gap. You will get an opportunity to be with your student in their classroom as well as help in other classrooms or areas throughout the day. Dads, please feel free to reach out to our school counselor, Sonja Smith through email if you'd like to sign up. Sonja.m.Smith@k12.sd.us

Communities are transformed by great leaders with big hearts. Did you know that 99% of coaches agreed that coaching Girls on the Run (GOTR) was a valuable experience? All you need is a compassion for helping others, availability to meet one a week for 1.5 hours and a desire to see the next generation achieve their dreams! You do not have to be a runner to coach. Contribute to the GOTR mission this season by coaching at Robert Frost Elementary. Fall 2023 season starts September 7 – November 16, Mondays & Thursdays from 3:00pm to 4:15pm. Go to www.embe.org/gotr for more information.

The Power of Partnership is highlighted, once again, to help SFSD families get connected to affordable internet. The SF Area Community Foundation is investing $50,000 to enroll households in the Affordable Connectivity Program (AFP). SD Voices for Peace leads the effort. Voices for Peace is working with SFSD schools to inform families of this program. An enrollment specialist will continue to meet families during school events like parent-teacher conferences, success nights, etc. Eligible families should enroll today! GetInternet.gov

We finally learned the results of the SD Elementary Honor Choir state auditions. There were well over 500 auditions submitted from around the state and we had 4 students selected from Robert Frost! There were only 130 total students selected for the 2023 SD Elementary Honor Choir. I am so pleased with this for being our first year of auditioning students at Robert Frost. We will only go UP from here, I'm sure of it! The students selected from Robert Frost/Challenge Center were: Clara Basel Alethia McKeever Annalise Hugelman Darren Gregory Congratulations!
