We don't always appreciate the snow but when we do it is because the students love to have fun in it! And NO this was not taken today...brrrrrrrr! Last week before the temps took a drastic drop!
This is a good reminder though if temps are at 0 degress or above the students go outside for recess. Please make sure you are sending your children in appropriate winter gear!
Stay Warm!

Dangerous weather conditions mean all activities/events for SFSD students for the
evening of Fri., Jan 12 and all day Sat., Jan 13, 2024 are being postponed.

No School Today - Tuesday, January 9, 2024

Sioux Falls Public Schools are closed Monday, January 8, 2024 due to weather.

A fun holiday writing assignment for our EL kindergarten friends. After eyes, a nose and a scarf they have a great looking reindeer.

When Mrs. G went to watch Ella P.
When we say our teachers are the best, we mean it! Mrs. Guebert spent some time this weekend to support one of her students in the DAPA presentation: "A Christmas Line, a North Pole Musical." She was beyond impressed with the talents and dedication of not only her student but all those who performed.

Teamwork makes the (double bass) dream work!

It is not always all work in the office, sometimes we get to take time out to have a little fun. Ms. Amanda and student worked together over recess to start a gingerbread train. Choo Choo!

Mrs. DeHaven reading "How the Grinch Stole Christmas!" to every classroom.
The book should be titled "We don't know HOW she does it ALL"

Today is a beautiful December day, but we know it can't last forever in South Dakota! Make sure you and your student(s) know how to access Canvas for remote learning when weather that keeps kids home can be predicted in advance.

Congratulations to this week's 💫🌟SFSD All Star🌟💫 Devon Purdie! Devon is a behavior facilitator at Oscar Howe Elementary, and her colleague Kelsi Heiberger had this to say, "Devon goes above and beyond in her role on a daily basis. She is the building behavior facilitator but is also ready to step in and help teachers or admin out in any situation that arises. Devon works with some of the toughest kiddos but does it with a smile on her face and works hard to develop relationships with each student. Those relationships she builds are so important to help those students grow emotionally and physically. She is not only a great behavior facilitator but also a fun and caring colleague to have around. I always knew that if I needed a friend to chat with, I could stop in her office. Devon works so hard for all students and staff at Oscar Howe Elementary and that is why I am nominating her!"
Thank you, Devon, for your hard work and dedication to students!

Staff really were "Mad for Plaid" today!

Reminder : This starts today, Monday, December 4th.
Please see the information regarding the SFSD lunch program. If you have any questions or concerns, please call the school at 605-362-2752 at any time.
