Kindergarteners draw a self portrait on their first day of art. Then they spend a school year learning, practicing, and growing. During one of their final visits to the art room they draw another self portrait. The growth and attention to detail is incredible. ❤️

Camp Golden Eagle continued today with a variety of fun camp activities in classrooms, the 5th grade talent show, and an opening and closing “campfire”.

Today we kicked off Camp Golden Eagle 2022 with our Camp MI Day.
Students attended 6 sessions on a variety of topics including: planting vegetables, planning picnics, science experiments, nature lessons, a variety of craft projects, zoo animals, Cub Scouts, Lakota history, fitness, summer reading, and even…choreographing professional wrestling matches.
It was a day that we will all remember forever.
Thanks to all of our amazing presenters who made the day special and creatively educational.

403 took some time to focus in on the future students of 403. They clued them in on all the tips and tricks to making their next year a great one and something to look forward to.
Students will “SOAR up” to visit their future classrooms on the last day of school.

Parent/guardian feedback is important to SFSD! We just launched a 7-question survey - which takes 5 minutes or less - to help guide the next steps toward becoming the BEST school district in the nation!
Check your email or paste this URL in your browser: https://survey.k12insight.com/r/QDVv1e
The survey is open until the end of the school year. Take the survey once for each child enrolled. If you prefer to only take it on, please reference the oldest child in your household. Thanks for your participation!

EFA+ students continue to experience hands on Nature Smart learning with IronFox Farm.

EFA+ 5th graders are working hard to curate their Monologue Museum Exhibits.
Each 5th grader has been gathering information about a notable person that they learned about at some point in elementary school. This is primarily a research writing project, but in true A+ fashion we integrated language arts, reading, math, visual art, and drama.
The Monologue Museum Exhibits will go on display as part of our upcoming art show that will be held on Thursday, May 19th from 5:30-6:30.
The 5th graders will perform monologues during the event to help viewers understand the notable person they learned about and the thought that went into the creation of each piece.

This speaking and listening game was so much fun that Mr. Mees just had to join in.
