Yesterday, 8th grade boys triumphed over George McGovern MS, winning both games. Way to go boys! Keep working hard. We are so incredibly proud of you.
As we settle into our first full week of the school year, staff and students have been participating in Washington High School Homecoming dress up days. The Garden club also picked squash and other delicious vegetables today from our garden. We love being able to grow our own produce that we can share with our staff, students and community.

Today, the City of Sioux Falls and Sioux Area Metro pulled up at Roosevelt High School to explain the public transit "Kids Ride Free Initiative." As the city works to increase ridership and build future transit users, children can ride SAM buses with a School ID/Freedom Pass.
The Bison garden is full of beautiful flowers and delicious strawberries as summer comes to an end. The garden club is fundraising to build an outdoor classroom for members of the Bison community to use. The FREE Stopfinder app allows parents/guardians/daycare providers to see pick-up and drop-off times, the location of the bus, and other features in a secure app. More information will be coming soon, including an invitation to set up your child's account in Stopfinder. If you are the primary household of a bus-eligible student, please check your email for more information.
We are excited to welcome incoming and returning students to Bison Roundup Day in just two short weeks!
We held our second annual Bison Volleyball Camp this week. Over 50 girls participated this year. The girls worked on skills with coaches over two days. A few girls earned t-shirts for being outstanding players. Thanks to everyone who attended! We can't wait for the season to get started. GO BISON!

Keep your students fueled to learn! SFSD is no longer able to offer free meals to all students. Now is a great time to add money to their My School Bucks account. Or, for families with qualifying income, it is important to fill out the Free/Reduced Meal application!
Log on to the Parent Portal in Infinite Campus to apply! If you have questions or need help filling out the application please call 605-367-6180. We are happy to help!
Please note: if your student does not have a free/reduced lunch application on file, you will be charged full price for breakfast and lunch starting the first day of school. Thank you!
Students/Families who need assistance with purchasing the necessary school supplies for a successful school year may consider attending Project SOS. The first day of classes for SFSD is Thursday, August 25, 2022.
