We had another SOARing breakfast recently at Terry Redlin Elementary! Each month we recognize students from each of our classrooms to celebrate their hard work. We invite their family in for donuts and to hear from their teacher while they receive their certificate. SOAR on, Eagles!
We continue celebrating Read Across America Week tomorrow! Our staff and students are encouraged to dress in lots of fun colors on Wednesday!

Last Monday we had the opportunity to celebrate Ms. Foley on being a finalist for the Dr. John Harris Teacher of the Year award. Ms. Foley was able to attend the awards banquet with her family, colleagues, and friends! Ms. Foley teaches 5th grade at Terry Redlin Elementary. Congrats, Ms. Foley, we are proud of you!

We are still celebrating last night's wonderful Teacher of the Year event! So many amazing educators to celebrate! Congratulations again to 2025 Teacher of the Year, Bruce Rekstad, who left with a $4,000 check, courtesy of our friends at Vern Eide. Also, a huge congratulations to the other four finalists, Jennifer Aerts, Bryan Aukerman, Scott Amundson, and Jessica Foley. New this year, thanks to the generosity of the Sioux Falls Public Schools Education Foundation, these four finalists walked away with $1,000 each. So many wonderful memories were shared last night! We are so grateful to everyone who attended, from nominees and their friends and families to past ToY winners, past educators, school board members, SDEA friends, and SFSD administrators, it truly was an unforgettable night! The Sioux Falls Stampede players stopped by Terry Redlin Elementary this week and visited our classrooms. Our students were very excited to see the team! In Mrs. Sylvester's classroom, students showed off their reading comprehension skills. They asked the Stampede players all their questions and then saw if they could keep up with their dance moves! Go Stampede!
Mrs. Gould's 4th and 5th graders had the opportunity to have Echo in their classroom last week! They read the book "The Rainbow Fish" and wondered how often a fish eats.
Food Pantry Update: Due to a delivery issue, there will be NO food pantry today, Wednesday, February 19th at Terry Redlin Elementary. The food pantry will be OPEN on Friday, February 21st from 3-4pm.
