Both students will represent Memorial at the Human Rights Essay Award Ceremony for 7th & 8th graders at 2pm Saturday, December 10, at Augustana University. At that time, the top three winners out of the finalists will be announced. Congrats to both Meti and Mayen, well as their teachers, Mrs. Summers and Mrs. Jackson!
Student Council got together before school this morning and assembled blankets for Project Warm-Up. Over the past 17 years, Project Warm-Up has distributed over 32,000 blankets to children and families in need.

Our school-wide food drive starts on Monday! Monday's food of the day is canned vegetables. Each can will get one point for the student's team. We are also accepting monetary donations. Thanks for helping others in our community!

In South Dakota today, there are individuals and families who find themselves without enough money to make ends meet, let alone purchase food. At the same time, there are also families, organizations, and businesses that have extra time and treasures to share. Feeding South Dakota exists to transfer that abundance to those in need. While this time of year tends to get chaotic, it’s important to remember how crucial student attendance is. Chronic absenteeism is a serious problem in South Dakota - a problem SFSD is committed to improving. Missing just two days a month can hurt a student’s grades and increase their chance of dropping out. Make sure your student is on the path to a bright future – and that starts in the classroom!
