Health Careers I - CTS 3010

1 Credit

Fall Semester

Health Careers I involves learning applied anatomy and physiology with integrated pathophysiology. This class includes a fast-paced and streamlined approach to learning the body systems, the organs in those systems, how those organs work together, and what happens when those organs do not work as they should. As we move through each body system, we discuss many different career paths associated with each area. Specialists from the areas of those health care fields also come to class to present their career areas. This class also involves learning the language of medical terminology. This challenging course helps you learn how to break down those large words into word parts and learn how to apply those terms to the health care field. This course also teaches you how to be a part of a health care team, how to take care of patients, how to prevent infection, how to incorporate critical thinking, and how to protect the privacy of your patients. Students are encouraged to have prior knowledge in anatomy, physiology, or biology prior to taking Health Careers.
