Congratulations! These students were selected Student of the Month for November. Thank you for demonstrating the Bison Way! We are proud of you! ❤️💛

SFSD schools start 2-hrs late Thursday, January 5, 2023.

Due to the amount of snow that fell with this winter storm and the time it will take for plows to get into residential neighborhoods, there will be No School, no practices and no activities tomorrow – Wednesday, January 4, 2023. District and school offices will be open.

In addition to there being NO SCHOOL today, an update now includes that SFSD Offices will also be closed on Tuesday, Jan 3, 2023.

Mark your calendars - Ben Reifel will be having an evening of tubing at Great Bear. Sign up information coming soon. Can't wait to see everyone on the hill!

We have our winners for the door wars! Each grade had a specific theme and judges have selected the winners. We want to thank everyone who participated and put in handwork decorating our building for the holiday season.

Final staff meeting of the year was filled with laughter as Mrs. Vandrongelen and Mr. Hieronimus had staff create a snowman out of marshmallows using only a few select items. Staff also played Christmas Scattergories. We are so thankful for our staff and the lengths they go to engaging students every day. ❤️

Wish our Bison community a wonderful break. We will see you back Tuesday, January 3rd.

Team 7-1 made 50 blankets this week for Project Warm-Up, which distributes blankets to children and families in need. We are so incredibly proud of the ways our students and staff continue to serve the Ben Reifel community.

Just a reminder our store closes tonight at 11:59pm. Get your orders in!

We will see everyone back Monday. Have a safe and warm weekend!

Students across the building are being extra creative for the door decorating contest. Each grade is designing around a specific theme and are competing to be the grade level winner. Who will win? Stay tuned to see the winning doors!

Due to the snow and increasing winds forecasted, we are cancelling all afterschool and evening activities to allow our students to get home while it is still light out. There will be no practices, performances, or other activities after school is dismissed today, Thursday, December 15, 2022. Thank you.

Congratulations! These students received the Best in the Herd Award today! They received Bison Way cards, a BRMS bracelet and a positive phone call home. Way to go! We are so proud of you. Thank you for demonstrating the Bison Way!❤️💛

Please see our announcement regarding school tomorrow.

Last night, choir students held their winter concert, where they showcased a variety of songs they spent countless hours rehearsing. Students were incredible, and we are so proud of how hard staff and students worked to prepare for this. Keep up all the hard work! ❤️

Congratulations to 7th grader Amen Tereda and 8th grader Kya Sherard, who are among the top 2022 Human Rights Day Essay Contest winners for their grades. They will attend a ceremony on December 10th to receive their awards and to celebrate their achievements. We are incredibly proud of your hard work!

In honor of World Soil Day, 6th grade science students hosted guest speakers from the South Dakota Soil Health Coalition, who spoke about soil formation and conservation. Students got a kick out of seeing how much (and how quickly) good microbes and decomposers can dispose clothing items in healthy soil vs a soil going through degradation. What an engaging day for our students! Thank you to all the speakers who provided an
engaging lesson.
