Ben Reifel hosted the spring band concert this week. Students performed beautifully for everyone. We are so proud of how hard each student worked on their skills this year. ❤️

8th grade Web leaders taught their last WEB activity yesterday. It was about connectedness within the building. Sixth graders enjoy having these building leaders come in and engage them throughout the year.

We have become aware of a scam circulating that appears as if SFSD Child Nutrition Coordinator Gay Anderson is asking people to go out and purchase large dollar amounts of gift cards. Gay has NOT sent out a text or an email. Her communication devices appear to have been hacked. Please delete any communication and do not follow through with the request. We apologize for this inconvenience.

Congratulations to Mrs.Brosz, Mrs. Logan, Mr.Beisch and our Counseling team for winning Public School Proud Grants. These grants will provide materials that enrich lessons and provide hands-on opportunities for students in the classroom. They are awarded by the Education Foundation and supported by local businesses. Thank you to all the sponsors and Sioux Falls Public Schools Education Foundation. ❤️

Recently, local snow plow drivers stopped by Ben Reifel to share about their jobs. Students in Mrs. Brosz' class had the opportunity to speak with them and share homemade goodies to show appreciation for all of the hard work they have done this winter. Thank you for all that you do for our community! ❤️

The stats are troubling-47% of SFSD students qualify for free/reduced lunches. Their family's income is not enough to make ends meet. That makes it difficult to support school fundraisers. Operation Hope & Caring helps! Get your tickets to the SF STORM game to support schools!

The BRMS 8th grade band performed at the district Large Group Contest event at MMS last Friday. The students shared an excellent performance and received great feedback from judges that they will use as they prepare for their Spring BRMS band concert on May 2nd! We can't wait to see everyone!

Seventh grade OSO students attended the USD Building Bridges event. Students were honored to listen to Lakota educator-advocate-filmmaker Jim Warne speak. What a fantastic opportunity and experience.

National History Day Announcement
Each year in 8th grade accelerated Social Studies, students participate in NHD, National History Day. For six months, students research, analyze and create a project based around an annual theme. This year's theme was Frontier's: People, Places and Ideas. In February, we hosted a building competition to determine who would move onto the Regional Contest and 28 students qualified. At the regional contest, two of those students qualified for the state contest in Brookings, SD: Sophie Elsen (exhibit- The Radium Girls) and Jasmine Wyant (performance- Catherine Parr: A Protestant Queen). Both students did a fabulous job of representing our school and we are excited to announce that Jasmine qualified for the National Contest with a first-place finish in her category. We are proud of you! Congrats!

Congratulations! These students were selected Student of the Month for March! Thank you for demonstrating the Bison Way! We are proud of you! ❤️💛
