From the closing of the Hispanic Heritage Month to El Día de Los Muertos. We are constantly learning about the culture of the Hispanic community. We learned about the Hispanic countries, which some of our teachers are from. The staff had a delicious potluck where they enjoyed the delicacies from many different countries. Lobos even attended the South Dakota Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Latino Festival and Parade! Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from September 15 to October 15, by celebrating the histories, culture and contributions of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America.

Another celebration that helps Lobos learn more about the culture is the traditions of El Día de Los Muertos. A tradition to remember family members and friends who have passed away. In Mexico, many families make an ofrenda (altar) in their homes to pay tribute to their loved ones who have passed on. Our school also currently has an ofrenda on display. SSE is very excited to keep sharing the Hispanic culture. More exciting cultural days are yet to come!!
