National Merit Finalists

We are incredibly excited and proud to announce that Lincoln has eleven National Merit Finalists this year!

To become a National Merit Finalist, a student must first take the PSAT/NMSQT and achieve a high score, typically in the top 1% of test-takers in their state. Semifinalists are then selected and must submit a detailed application, including an essay, strong academic records, and a recommendation. If they meet all requirements, they advance to Finalist status, which is announced in February of their senior year. Finalists are then considered for National Merit Scholarships, which are awarded based on academic achievements, extracurricular involvement, and leadership. Scholarship winners are announced between March and June, with awards coming from the National Merit Scholarship Corporation, corporate sponsors, or universities.
