The Lincoln football team has been impressive in the first half of their regular season, going 4-0 and winning every game by double-digit margins so far. The defense is led by a strong core of senior leadership, including safety Edison Noll, defensive backs Jamir Byrd, Tatum Bell, and Cole Knudson, linebackers Gabe Brunz, Connor Gray, and Griffin Keller, as well linemen Reuben Diehyee, Kishmar Eberline, and Luke Krempges. This unit has held teams to just 14 points per contest and has frustrated opposing offenses.
On the offensive side for the Patriots, they are guided by a youth movement, starting with the quarterback play of sophomore Brody Schafer. Schafer has enjoyed a talented group of wide receivers, featuring juniors Louison Akossi and Mikey Roche. The running game, led by senior Josh Myers as well quarterback Schafer, has produced 17 touchdowns already. Lincoln is averaging 9 yards per carry behind the offensive line led by seniors Tayden Fesler and Lincoln Schumacher.
As the Pats head into the cooler months, they hope to stay hot on the field. Coach Fredenburg and his team hope to make a deep run in the playoffs and defend their state title from a year ago.
