Deaf History Month - April 1 through April 30

Deaf History Month is a time to celebrate the rich culture, history, and contributions of the Deaf community. It’s a chance to learn about famous Deaf individuals, such as artists, athletes, and leaders, and understand the importance of sign language in connecting people. In elementary school, we can celebrate by learning basic sign language, reading books about Deaf history, watching videos that highlight Deaf culture, and inviting Deaf community members to share their experiences. Let’s celebrate the achievements of the Deaf community and help spread awareness and respect all month long!
