The Sioux Falls Public Schools Education Foundation awarded “Public School Proud Grants” to four Discovery teachers! Below are the teachers, along with what the funds will be used for:
Mrs. Klopstad: Lots of Bots: Ozobots! A set of programmable robots and accessories. Students will collaborate and communicate as a team as they plan, implement, and problem solve their way through various projects.
Mr. Stanford: The Maker Cart 2.0, which is a mobile STEM activity center. From coding and robotics to 3D printing and drafting, the Maker Cart 2.0 makes it easy for students to design, experiment, and problem-solve.
Mrs. Phillips: Sensory bins for diverse learning styles consisting of kinetic sand, Play-Doh, sponge roller brushes, monkey foam, noodle boards, Doodlejamz jelly boards, wooden building blocks with acrylic gem windows, and Picasso tiles.
Mrs. Haug: Hot air balloon project! She plans to purchase paper lanterns, tissue paper, paint brushes and other art supplies to make hot air balloons that are related to the book “The World Needs Who You Were Made to Be” by Joanna Gaines.
Congratulations, teachers!
