Students in Kindergarten at Cleveland are using Canvas on their iPads to read a story. They then completed a drawing of an animal they remember from the story that lived in a den.
This continued practice of completing work on Canvas will help them be successful in the event of a snow day this winter.

Congratulations to our Cubs Count Winners. These students were here on time, and each day last week!

Reminder: There is a PTA meeting tonight in the Cleveland Library starting at 5:30.
Please plan to join us!

Today is a beautiful December day, but we know it can't last forever in South Dakota! Make sure you and your student(s) know how to access Canvas for remote learning when weather that keeps kids home can be predicted in advance.

Kindergarten students at Cleveland had SO MUCH FUN doing their work (decodable and math games) on Canvas today. The teacher said, "I don't know who was more excited, the kids or me?" Afterward, several kids said, "We should do this more!"

Students in 4th Grade heard from a military veteran yesterday. Some of them tried on real military gear during the presentation! The gear weighed around 50 lbs and they all made it look easy.

Planning Ahead! If your current 5th grader is involved in Gifted Education at their SFSD Elementary, join us tonight from 6-7pm at Patrick Henry Middle School to learn more about the Middle School Honors Program!

Second graders in 201, have "Tasty Friday" once a month where they follow a recipe, eat it, and then write a recipe review working on describing words!
Students LOVE Tasty Fridays!

SFSD's new Canvas platform allows students and families to access school assignments and homework anytime, anywhere. When winter weather can be predicted, students and staff will take devices home to continue their learning. Are you prepared? Check out the guidance BEFORE you need it!

Due to weather, the last Neighborhood Soccer League event was cancelled. The head coach for the Cleveland Cubs along with Community members that help organize the event delivered soccer balls to each student that participated.
We cannot thank all the community members and business partners that have continued to make this event possible for our students.
Soccer will begin again in April for 6 weeks. Please be looking for a QR Code to sign your 2nd-5th grader up at the end of March.
