Here are our High Flying Soaring Eagles for this week! Congrats on being responsible, respectful, and safe! Keep up the good work!

It’s coding week during Family time!! Kids get the opportunity to code with Ozobots by creating a path it can follow and adding a code to make their robot spin, go fast, snail speed, or turn! So cool! They also get to do Osmo Coding and Coding Jam! They use Osmo tiles to get their character to move across the screen! Way fun! The also get to work with a friend to do different coding activities online together to create music or avatars! What a great experience this is for all of them! We might have some future professional coders among us!!

Today marks the 23rd Annual Lights On Afterschool event! Launched over 20 years ago, Lights On Afterschool is the only nationwide event celebrating afterschool programs and their important role in the lives of children, families, and communities.
In honor of this event, Kids Inc. staff at all locations will be hosting celebrations throughout the next two weeks for students and families to participate in. Activities include talent shows, cookie decorating, pumpkin paintings, dance parties, art shows, scavenger hunts, and carnivals! These events are meant to bring awareness to the importance of quality after-school programs for kids.
Please help us say thank you to our Kids Inc. staff who play a MAJOR role in so many of our students' education journeys. We are incredibly thankful for each and every one of them for their dedication to the District and our students!

Happy Boss’s Day to Mrs. Van Duyn! Thanks for all you do for the students, staff, and parents! We appreciate you!

Twice a year during conference week, All City hosts a Book Fair where families can purchase books for their children or the classrooms! Each time someone purchases a book, we receive money to get free books for our classrooms! Thank you to Celeste Fergen for organizing this each time! THANK YOU families for your generous support to the Book Fair! The kids love the new books that were donated!

Ms. Becker is reviving an old tradition! For years, ACE families would donate a book to the school library in honor of their child’s birthday. This year, Ms. Becker is donating the book Creepy Crayon in honor of her 35th birthday to kick off this new/old tradition! If you are interested, Ms. Becker will have a list of wanted/needed books you can choose from to donate in honor of your child’s birthday. Celebrate birthday joy with Jane Addams readers! Email Ms. Becker with any questions: Sarah.Becker@k12.sd.us

Tonight is the night for our Pizza Ranch Fundraiser! It is from 5-8! Thanks for the support!

Our first Swimming Friday was back on October 7 and the kids had a blast!!!! All K-5 students have an opportunity once a month to go swimming at Embe downtown! Students get to swim with two classes at a time (K-1, 4-5, and 2-3). It is such a great way to build friendships and get some extra exercise in our day! We love our Swimming Fridays tradition!

**Fundraising Friday**
This week I have another super easy way to help the school out. Box Tops makes it easy to earn money for your school. You purchase items that have box tops, create a box tops account on the app and then scan your receipt! That’s it! No more saving the pieces and bringing them in to school. Just scan your receipt with the app.
If you have questions please reach out!
Thanks!

Fundraising Coordinator

Big shout out to all of our lunch helpers for National School Lunch Week! Thank you also to Rebecca and Audrey for all they do! Thanks to our parents who also assist in the lunchroom each day! Also thanks to our custodians for helping keep our lunchroom clean!

Chess Club got started back up this week for All City students in grades 3-5! 27 students signed up! So fun! Thanks to the Yoder family for organizing and David Kerkhove for teaching the kids about chess!! What a great opportunity!

Here are this week’s “High Flying Soaring Eagles!” Thank you for demonstrating qualities of being responsible, respectful, and safe this week! Thanks to all students who worked hard on this!

Plan ahead for our next All City Fundraiser!! Pizza Ranch on Monday, Oct. 17 from 5-8 pm!! Check out the poster for more details!

Here are our “High Flying Soaring Eagles” for the week!! This past week we started implementing a ticket reward system that follows our PBIS behavior plan of being responsible, respectful, and safe! Students could earn a ticket from a teacher/staff if they were displaying one or all of those qualities. At the end of the week, we draw one student from each class and one random teacher to earn a small reward! Congrats to our proud Eagles this week!

What a fantastic afternoon surprise for our All City kiddos when they had students from Lincoln High School (who were celebrating their Homecoming Week) join in their recess activities! Some of these students were even All City alumni! The kids loved watching JT Rock show them his awesome dunks and getting to dunk themselves while other students loved catching up with the other alum on their past experiences at ACE and showing off our new playground to them! So much fun!! Thanks LHS students for coming to visit All City! Come again soon!

Today a few of our local VFW members came to present on Americanism duties like folding the flag, showing respect to the flag, and information about the VFW and VFW Auxiliary. After the presentation, two lucky ACE students were chosen to practice folding the flag. Each third through fifth grader received a bag of goodies including a flag, coloring contest information, and information on a singing competition. A big thank you to the VFW members for teaching our students about Americanism today and thank you for your service!
