March Madness Reading Challenge

Miss Leloux’s All City third graders competed in a three-week “March Madness Reading Challenge” competition. Students were put into teams of 2 or 3 and randomly placed in an 8 team tournament bracket. The third graders would ‘challenge’ another team each week by submitting their reading minutes for the week on Mondays. They would then figure out the average of each team and see who advanced in the bracket. Then, they would challenge a new team each week during the competition. Prizes were earned for each place. All minutes towards the contest were reading minutes outside of the school day and they read for over 12,500 minutes!! Wow! Way to go! Congrats to the "Chicken Wings" for earning first place! Everyone was a winner for reading each week to help their team. All teams displayed excellent sportsmanship, teamwork, and dedication! So proud!
