Requirements

Education Level

High School Diploma or GED. 

Experience Desired

One to three years of previous experience in database systems, billing, collections, basic accounting, customer service.

Physical Requirements

Hand-eye/mind-eye coordination, hearing; intermittent filing, grasping, holding, indexing, inserting, keyboarding, repetitive use of wrists, hands and fingers, opening, reaching, removing, scheduling, sitting, sorting, speaking, stamping, standing, stapling, stooping, typing, walking, and writing.

Other Requirements

Proficiency in data input on computer terminal. Must be technologically savvy with a strong Office Suite background. Ability to relate in a positive manner with employees and the public. Ability to take initiative, and to think and work independently with high attention to detail.

Essential Function & Duties

  1.  Maintains the daily operations of the Community Learning Centers Enrollment Department by taking and directing phone calls, relaying messages, answering emails, assisting families in person, and distributing mail. Ensures accuracy of information is being provided to internal and external customers, while giving excellent customer service to offer a positive community image of the Sioux Falls School District.

  2. Maintains enrollments for the Community Learning Centers, Learning Adventures Early Childhood Program and Junior Kindergarten PLUS+; Ensures accurate enrollment information is shared with the site and management staff. Maintains wait lists for the Community Learning Centers sites; monitors site enrollment and enrolls new families when slots become available at sites.

  3. Monitors student needs and circumstances indicated on enrollment forms; advises when circumstances may require supervisory review; gathers proper disclosures for information from families. 

  4. Maintains accurate records within database systems by entering data, uploading documents, recording of communication, and pulling reports from computer software.  Ensures confidentiality of students, families, and staff.

  5. Assists in development and implementation of enrollment process, procedures and operating/payment calendars for Community Learning Centers and Junior Kindergarten PLUS+. Assists in maintaining the Community Learning Centers enrollment procedure manuals and training guides. 

  6. Generates flyers, forms, documents, and advertising as needed for various enrollment activities.

  7. Assists in process for billing and collection of dues and fees for families enrolled into the Community Learning Centers, Learning Adventures Early Childhood Program and Junior Kindergarten PLUS+. 

  8. Records daily deposits and credits to aid in reconciliation of financial reports.

  9. Assists with tuition assistance process; aids families with the State of South Dakota Child Care Assistance and Community Learning Centers scholarship process.

  10. Orders, disperses, and tracks Security Entrance Badges for Community Learning Centers families.

  11. Assists in preparation for licensing inspections by providing requested documentation.

  12. Participates in cross-training opportunities within the Community Learning Centers Enrollment Department and other areas as deemed necessary by supervisor.

  13. Completes training requirements for Direct Care as determined by the State of South Dakota; assists in coverage at sites in emergency situations.

  14. Performs other duties as assigned by direct or indirect supervisors.
