Requirements
Education Level | Two years of post high school education or higher, or be able to pass a standardized test approved by the state of South Dakota, for designated Education Assistant positions. |

Experience Required | Desire to work with elementary aged children, experience with procedures desirable but not required. |
Physical Requirements | Constant hand-eye/mind-eye coordination, hearing; intermittent filing, grasping, and walking. Frequent balancing, bending over, carrying, climbing, crouching, holding, indexing, inserting, lifting, sitting, stamping, standing, stooping, ta lking, turning, writing. Also frequent repetitive motion of wrists, hands, fingers. |
Other Requirements | The ability to work with frequent interruptions. |

Essential Function & Duties
Supervises circulation of library materials.
Re-shelves returned books and other materials in timely manner.
Assists students in locating books and other materials as needed.
Assists staff as necessary in locating materials.
Processes new materials and files necessary cards.
Mends books
Supervises students with assistance of staff.
Produces overdue notices, sends letters home, and assists in recovering overdue materials.
Keeps card catalog up to date.
Removes obsolete and worn out materials from shelves.
Types purchase orders, keeps records on circulation and current class lists.
Prepares bulletin boards and displays.
May be requested by administration to transport students using personal vehicle.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
