REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION LEVEL:

Bachelor’s degree in statistics, data science, social sciences, education, or related field or equivalent in experience. 

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Experience working with data collection, reporting, and analysis, research, finance, and/or federal child care programs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Hand-eye/mind-eye coordination, hearing; intermittent filing, grasping, holding, indexing, inserting, keyboarding, repetitive use of wrists, hands and fingers, opening, reaching, removing, scheduling, sitting, sorting, speaking, stamping, standing, stapling, stooping, typing, walking, and writing.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Proficiency in data management tools and software (Excel, Google Sheets, database management systems).  Strong attention to detail.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.  Familiarity with educational programs is a plus.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES

The Data Specialist is responsible for the management, entry, collection, analysis, and reporting of information for the Community Learning Center.

  1. Data Management, Collection, and Entry

    • Design and implement data collection methods to track information in ProCare software, Infinite Campus, Childcare Assistance platforms, and other database management tools.

    • Accurately record and enter data into the designated database or management systems.  Will manage, record, and enter data to generate financial invoices, grant funding requirements, child nutrition, and childcare reimbursement requirements. 

  2. Data Management, Analysis, and Reporting

    • Manage and analyze collected data in ProCare and Infinite Campus systems to identify trends, patterns, and areas of improvement.  

    • Generate regular reports summarizing program metrics and outcomes for stakeholders.

  3. Outcome Measurement

    • Collaborate with CLC staff to define and measure Standards of Excellence measures. 

    • Evaluate the effectiveness of program activities and interventions using data-driven insights.

  4. Data Quality Assurance

    • Monitor and maintain data integrity to ensure accuracy, completeness, and consistency of information.

    • Conduct periodic audits and validation checks to identify and rectify discrepancies.

  5. Database Management

    • Manage, organize, and maintain the program's data repository, ensuring easy access and retrieval for reporting and analysis purposes.

  6. Technical Support

    • Provide training and support to program staff on data collection methods, tools, and systems.

    • Troubleshoot and address any technical issues related to data management.

  7. Program Evaluation

    • Assist in designing and implementing evaluation frameworks to assess the impact of the after-school program on participants' academic performance, attendance, and behavioral outcomes.

  8. Compliance and Privacy

    • Ensure compliance with relevant data protection and privacy regulations, including obtaining necessary consent for data collection.

  9. Collaboration and Communication

    • Collaborate with program managers, educators, and other stakeholders to gather input and insights for data collection strategies.

    • Communicate findings and insights to the program team, highlighting areas of success and improvement opportunities.
