Essential Functions & Duties
Participates in Leadership Development Institute sessions and activities.
Assists in the supervision of staff assigned to the building.
Conducts drop-in observations and works with teachers to improve student achievement.
Assists the principal with chairing IEP meetings.
Assists the principal in providing a safe and secure environment for learning.
Assists the principal with student discipline and behavior management.
Communicates with staff, parents, students and the school community.
Working Conditions
Climatic Environment - Both Inside & Out
Typically, work is conducted in a comfortable environment. Some District classrooms and work areas are not climate controlled and are subject to extremes of temperature and humidity.
Hazards
For some buildings, stairs, chalkdust and exposure to communicable diseases may be a potential hazard. In science labs, there could be exposure to chemicals and fumes. Equipment that supports classroom instruction could be potentially hazardous under certain conditions.
